AI Summary Building Block

Condense lengthy text into clear, concise summaries to highlight only what truly matter with just a click.

What is the AI Summary?

The AI Summary Building Block automatically generates a short, easy-to-read summary of your page content with just one click.
It’s designed to help readers quickly grasp the key points of a long article, news item, or lesson, saving time and improving content engagement.

You can use it:

  • At the top of a page to provide an overview before readers dive in.

  • Or at the bottom as a “Key Takeaways” section that reinforces the main ideas.

Why use AI Summaries?

  • Improve readability: Summaries make long or complex content more approachable.

  • Boost engagement: Readers are more likely to continue reading when they understand the essence upfront.

  • Highlight what matters: Perfect for news updates, knowledge pages, and lessons with dense information.

  • Save time: No need to manually write summaries. The AI does it for you.

Where It’s Available

The AI Summary Building Block is available in:

  • News

  • Pages

  • Lessons within Courses (ahead Learning module coming soon.)

How to Add an AI Summary

  1. On the page, click “Add Building Block.”

  2. Select “AI Summary.”

  3. The system will automatically:

    • Generate a concise summary using the content already on your page.

    • Insert it into a Rich Text Building Block labeled as “Summary.”

  4. You can edit and format the generated text if you wish.

  5. To refresh the content, click “Regenerate” in the bottom toolbar. This replaces the existing text with a new AI-generated summary.

How the AI generates the Summary

The AI Summary analyzes the content already on your page to create a concise, meaningful overview.
It doesn’t just look at keywords, it reads the full text to understand the main ideas, tone, and structure before producing a short version that captures what matters most.

Here’s how it works:

  • The AI uses as input:

    • All text inside Rich Text Building Blocks on the page

    • The page title, which helps determine the topic and focus

  • Based on this context, it generates a new summary.

  • Every time you click Regenerate, the AI creates a new variation of the summary, phrased differently, sometimes with a slightly different tone or emphasis.

If there’s no or very little content, the AI cannot produce a summary.

Summary Styling

The AI Summary is automatically highlighted for readers in a colored box to make it visually distinct.
This default styling cannot be changed, but you can fully format the text within the summary using the standard Rich Text formatting options: bold, italics, links, lists, and more.

Tips for best results

  • Write your content first: The AI summary works best when your page already contains well-structured text (titles, headings, and paragraphs).

  • Regenerate if needed: Each regeneration may produce a slightly different version. Try it a few times to find one that fits your tone.
  • Review and personalize: The AI provides a publish-ready summary, but it’s always best to review the text for accuracy, tone, and emphasis.
  • Keep it concise: A good summary should be short. Usually 3–5 lines or bullet points.
  • Be consistent: Place summaries in the same position across similar content types (e.g., top for News, bottom for Lessons).
